Weekend tales

Went to singapore for the weekend :) had tonnes of fun traveling by bus and all.. It was good to get to civilization again.. This was in one of the shopping malls.. Forgot which one-- there are so many in singapore! I went straight to orchard road after I reached singapore, with my backpack and all.. No time to waste!

Spotted this funny dress made out of many teddy bears! They are really creative in singapore :)

Food food food! Everywhere I looked, there was food. Their bakeries are scrumptious :) Look at these cute gingerbread men! This was from a choclate shop.. sigh...

This was at esplanade walk. It's by the side of the singapore river or something.. Behind is the city bathed in lights twinkling in the distance. Really nice :)

Couldn't resist taking pictures here and there. The theme is somewhat fairy tale like this year on orchard road.. We were on the way to Sentosa Island for the day :)

And here, we decided to travel by cable car.. Everyone was a bit scared of the height and all, but it was an enjoyable trip.. Expensive lahhhhh...

We went to underwater world in Sentosa Island just to see how it would compare to Aquaria in KLCC.. This is a carcass of one of the Japanese spider crabs, the largest crab species in this world. It grows up to 1.8metres or more.. This was one of the moulted shells they found. Apparently, this crab had moulded it's shell. And this is just the MOULD as it is bigger than this.. argh.. makes you think twice about eating them..

Jellyfishes again :) hehe.. really beautiful, but I learn that the most poisonous one is found in Australian waters.. forgot the name though..

We then headed to watch the dolphin show in the dolphin lagoon.. It was raining on and off, and we had no umbrella.. But we sat under the trees here in the corner, and managed to get a good view of the show.. dolphins are cute! But have to pay to swim with them and all.. *shakes head* typical tourist traps..

We went to one of the beaches-- pahlawan beach. Enjoyed the nice view from the top of one of the view towers they had.. Nice breeze too despite the slight drizzle :)

We sat a "luge" ride all the way down, and now we're taking a ride back to the top again.. quite fun :) it's something like go-cart racing where we just cart all the way down the hill, and then go up on this ride thing.. fun :)
Later, I managed to catch this off the tv screen showing the pictures taken from a camera on the way up.. Free :D Li hsia held on to her shoes cause she didn't want them to drop off her feet. I kept making sure I was gripping my shoes tightly with my toes.. Didn't want to walk all over singapore barefooted!

We had to get our hands stamped each time we ride so that they would know if we were first timers or not.. look at those nice straight veins-- any one wants to practice setting intravenous lines? :D hehe..

Next stop: Vivo city. Located just next to sentosa at the harbour front center, this shopping complex is new and BIG. I have not finished walking this place. Argh.. Going back some time to continue my wandering :D

My favourite place in Vivo city-- Candy empire! It was nice to look around at the different types of choclates and sweets.. yumm... when is malaysia going to have this? Might as well enjoy while we're still young and have healthy pancreas :)

I couldn't resist trying strawberry kit kat.. Really nice.. there were many other types of choclates as well.. No wonder the kids seem to run around there, hyper on sugar.. Endorphines were already kicking in at the sight of the rest of the choclates... *swoons* and they're pretty affordable actually..

We decided to try some funny hats.. haha.. and the two girls on my left actually decided to pose some la la pose.. look kinda weird :P

Kim wanted to try carls junior in singapore.. We shared 2 burgers. Why? cause it's HUMONGOUS. Half of one burger was equivalent to one whole macdee's burger in malaysia.. But it was nice! and they also had free flow of coke and soft drinks.. so being girls, we shared the free flow of free drinks :) and fries.. and were satisfied..

Another picture of the food and hsia.. full full full! :p need to lose weight now.. ugh..

The MRT stations actually have like little shops@ shopping malls near by. Strategic locations! I think singapore's transport system is really excellent. I was amused when YY actually showed us how they could check when the next bus would be reaching our bus stop by sms. We need to upgrade ourselves a lot over here.. Haih..

Back in Malaysia, I'm stuck with portfolios again. Reality bites...Weekend is over now, so the week ahead begins :) Thank You Lord for all the journey mercies, blessings and my family!
