This Christmas

Another Christmas has come and gone, and the world still has it's problems and life still goes on. At the beginning of time, God made Man in His image, and gave him privileges. Falling into the valley of sin, we were separated from God. But, God did not give up on us. The plan to reunite us with Him was hatched from the very beginning when God had walked through the garden of Eden and called out Adam's name while he was hiding with Eve.

Even through the prophets of the ages, God's message rang clear: He was going to save us. Jesus could have chosen to be born with all the pomp and splendor in a golden bejeweled palace, surrounded by hundreds of servants awaiting His hand and foot as soon as He uttered His first cry, as befitting God's awesomeness. Would the Son of Man have chosen to be born a helpless baby, dependent on a maiden in a humble, probably smelly stable, with only barn animals and Joseph, a carpenter, to herald His birth?

Yes.

The mere idea of God incarnate, who calls the stars by name, who was there when the universe was created, who breathed life into Man, who formed the earth and all the life it holds, who mapped out our whole family tree so we can be where we are today, who knitted us together in our mother's womb.. this living God; could humble Himself to be born as a helpless baby, destined to be persecuted and hung on a cross for the sake of mankind, out of His great love for us. It's overwhelming when I sit to think about it.

God's love is so endless and His majesty and power so great, that it envelopes us through time. It is no wonder that every living creature on earth and heaven cries out "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty!" day and night. Cause He simply is :)

When I remember God's awesomeness, the matters of the world becomes trivial to me. I find myself sitting at the footstool of God's throne, enveloped in His radiance and love for the world, in perfect peace with myself and the rest of the world.

This Christmas, I want to remember what God has done for me. I want to gather my strength to move out of my comfort zone with God by my side. It's ironic how it is so easy to talk about every topic under the sky except share about Jesus. That's our comfort zone. It's difficult to start moving, but it begins with a little effort from our side.

Sometimes we get too comfortable where we are. How does a person change for the better without being willing to have feedback from other people about themselves? These thoughts randomly traveled my mind as I sat watching the Christmas musical in church. Less people are willing to spend time to be harvesters in God's kingdom. It's a delicate issue of the heart.

I can only hope my generation will be strong enough to make the difference. If not us, then who? :) Blessed Christmas.
